About This Course

Are you ready to take your defensive pistol skills to a completely new level? ACADEMI’s Handgun V (Defensive Pistol) will prepare you to defend your family whether you are at home or in your car. Our two-day course covers: firearm safety, developing a proper mindset, situational awareness, holster selection for concealed carry while driving, presentation techniques from within a vehicle, proper defensive pistol marksmanship, and home invasion scenarios. During the practical portion of this course, our instructors will cover vehicle shooting techniques, utilization of cover, home defense preparedness and procedures utilizing real life scenarios with both live and Non-Lethal Training Ammunition (NLTA). As always, considerable emphasis is placed on constructive practice and how to evaluate and track your own skill level.

  • 500 rounds. 9mm (9x19) is the minimum service caliber for this course.

    No green/brown tip, armor piercing, or steel cased ammunition at any time

    • Completion of Handgun III or Tactical Pistol II –and-
    • Current, valid carry permit –or-
